Jamie Foxx To Host New Sketch Comedy Show

Jamie Foxx is returning to the Fox network to host a new sketch comedy series called The Jamie Foxx Project. The new show, which some say may be similar to In Living Color, is being produced by Foxx and Affion Crockett. Each of them will also be featured in the series as well. Crockett has previously worked on projects such as The Boondocks, Nick Cannon Presents Short Circuitz and Dance Flick.

Each episode of the program will feature sketches making fun of popular culture, including current television shows, movies, music videos, commercials and events. There will also be a lot of guest appearances on the show by some of today's most popular comedians and celebrities. As of right now there is no set date for the show's premiere.

Jamie Foxx will be returning to some of his roots. The actor, 43, will be seen again on the FOX network, in his new, so far untitled comedy project. Foxx became well-known after starring on FOX’s In Living Color, which ran from 1990 to 1994, and consisted of others like the Wayans brothers, David Alan Grier, and Jim Carrey. According to MonstersandCritics.com, the FOX network picked up the show, which will be a primetime half-hour comedy sketch series. Oscar winner Foxx will be the new show’s executive producer. Comedian and actor Affion Crockett will star in the project, as well as serve as one of the show’s producers.

In addition to many other projects, Foxx is currently in pre-production for The Skank Robbers, a spin-off of a sketch from In Living Color, according to IMDB. Foxx won an Academy Award in 2005 for his performance in Ray, in which he portrayed blind singer Ray Charles. He has also won numerous other film awards.

Xhosa comedy show will tickle Bay's funny bone

THE popular stand-up show  99% Xhosa Comedy returns to Eastern Cape stages in two performances this week – on Friday at the Orient Theatre in East London and Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Second Avenue Campus in Port Elizabeth. Initially hosted only in Port Elizabeth, the show has grown in popularity and now East London boasts its own edition.

“The show taps into political, economic and social issues and presents them in a culturally satirical fashion,” said organiser Monwabisi Grootboom.

Comedy show with Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald to benefit MEOWComedian Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald of Animal Planet’s “Emergency Vets” will crack up Kirkland on July 9 with a show to benefit MEOW Cat Rescue and Adoption.
Aside from “Emergency Vets,” Fitzgerald has made many television appearances  -- most recently, he was on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” He also hosts a weekly segment on CW2’s morning news show, “Animal House.” You also may have heard him on radio shows such as “The Howard Stern Show.”
The evening of hilarious stand-up comedy will start at 8:30 PM at Laughs Comedy Spot, 12099 124th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98034. Tickets are $20 and can be bought at the door starting an hour before show time, by phone at (425) 823-6306, or online at ticketweb.com.
A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit MEOW Rescue and Adoption of Kirkland. MEOW is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that opened in 1997. Oscar-winning actor/singer Jamie Foxx has reportedly partnered with MTV to produce an exciting new sketch comedy series.

Foxx will be the executive producer of the show, his first since the 'Jamie Foxx Show' ended in 2001. MTV claims the new series will be "the next generation of 'In Living Color,'" the legendary 90's sketch show that launched the careers of Foxx, Jim Carrey, Jennifer Lopez and many others.

Uganda: A Soulful Grand Comedy Show

THE journey to last Thursday's Grand Comedy started way back on Good Friday when Theatre Factory performed for the Luzira Maximum Prison inmates.

That show had a lot of inspiration of the soul-searching kind, as the inmates promised the Prisons' bosses maximum discipline if the bosses promised that Theatre Factory would be back once more.

It was the first and only time an entertainment ensemble had performed at the prison. Grand Comedy had similar soul-searching moments.The skit with Richard Tuwangye, Dixon Zizinga and Wilson Bugembe that revolved around religions and false prophets was food for the spirit.

Comedy show in Freeborn Saturday

TB3’s Bar & Grill in Freeborn will present TB3’s Comedy Night featuring two nationally known headlining comedians: Dwight York and Craig Allen.

York and Allen are two standup comedy veterans best known for their appearances on “The Bob & Tom Show.” Each comedian usually headlines shows on their own, but they love the opportunity this show allows for them to work together.

Dwight York’s twisted one-liners are the glue that holds the show together. York fires off brilliant jokes like a madman on a rampage.

Craig Allen will set the table for the twisted madness of York.

Berkley's Chamberlain Farm holds benefit comedy show

A buffet dinner, music, dancing and a comedy show starring comedian Dave Russo will be at the Chamberlain Farm's Pavilion on Friend Street in Berkley at 7p.m.  June 27.

Tickets are $25 with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Friends of the Council on Aging.

Kalla to Outline Debt Policies On Popular Comedy Show

Vice President Jusuf Kalla will use the unusual medium of a television comedy program to outline his promise to shrink the country’s reliance on foreign debt if elected president, a spokesman for his campaign said on Monday.

Dradjad Wibowo said the promise would be aired on the Q-TV program “Negeri Impian.” A video disc of the program will also be distributed to Kalla supporters.

Dradjad, speaking on the set of the show on Monday, said Kalla believed that foreign debts were based on loan contracts that harmed the interests of Indonesians.
