Jennifer Lopez: From Spain to Italy

July 2, 2008 |12:12 | General | Tv news  By : Team X

She’s been living it up in Spain while her hubby Marc Anthony tended to his concerts, and now Jennifer Lopez is checking out what Italy has to offer.

The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” songstress was spotted supporting Anthony at a press conference in Milan, Italy at the Palazzo Marino earlier today.

And as always, J. Lo looked stunning in a wispy mustard yellow dress teamed with a pair of strappy brown heels and a Birkin handbag by Hermes.  Unfortunately it seems that her undergarments slipped through in a few shots.  Whoops!

The press conference was in honor of Marc, with the Milan Town Council bestowing on him the Honorary Award.  Also in the audience was famed designer Stefano Gabbana from the Dolce & Gabbana label.

'Gossip Girl' Star Moves from Low Rent to High Fashion

June 27, 2008 |15:44 | General | Tv news  By : Team X

On Gossip Girl, 14-year-old actress Taylor Momsen portrays young Jenny Humphrey. The character grew up in a loft in Brooklyn making her own clothes, being anything but rich. All of last year Jenny tried to break into the world of socialites and fashion, only to give up after squaring off with the always on top and wealthy Blair Waldorf.

Taylor Momsen isn't going to go down as easy s her character. The actress has just signed a modeling contract with IMG Models, one of the leading agencies in the business. Seems like even if her alter-ego Jenny is resigned to her low rent fate, Taylor Momsen is ready to take the world of high fashion by storm.
IMG Models is known for its many high profile and famous clients. They represent such well known and beautiful A-list celebrities as Drew Barrymore, Heidi Klum, Liv Tyler, Selma Blair and Julianne Moore. Taylor Momsen will be joining other young TV stars such as Mischa Barton and Hilary Duff now that IMG is representing her.

Recently it was rumored that Taylor Momsen's Jenny character on Gossip Girl might be getting her own spin-off TV series set in an all girl boarding school. Though those rumors were roundly squashed by Gossip Girl producer Josh Schwartz, with Taylor Momsen's new high profile modeling gig guaranteeing more face time in various forms of media, perhaps that idea may come back into play within the next few years.

As seen on a memorable episode of Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen once got into a tiff over a modeling gig arranged by Blair's mother. As of this writing, there's no word on what Blair (Leighton Meester) and Serena (Blake Lively) think of little Jenny Humphrey's new gig. Surely the characters would be completely scandalized that someone from the lower class is on the up and up – though the actresses that portray the characters may be much more congratulatory to their fresh-faced young co-star.

TV Review: "The Two Coreys"

June 24, 2008 |13:34 | General | Tv news  By : Team X

The best thing about watching former child stars Corey Haim and Corey Feldman prepare themselves for a dinner together is seeing how they suit up beforehand.

Haim, a haunted-looking 37-year-old with tattoos and an overwhelming appetite for nicotine, opts for a black leather jacket and a cell phone earpiece. Feldman, also 37, and with slightly less mileage visible around his dark eyes, pulls on a white, bejeweled sweatshirt, worn Unabomber-style, the hood pulled up tight around his chin. He completes the ensemble with jewel-crusted shades, even though it's dark outside.

Why daytime TV is off the critical list

June 23, 2008 |13:09 | General | Tv news  By : Team X

Joan Rivers is stunned. She has just been kicked off ITV's live lunchtime chatshow Loose Women for saying "fuck". "I swear that is a first for me," she says, "I was talking about Russell Crowe, I said 'you'd better get ready with the bleeper because I'm about to swear,' then I said he was a fucking arsehole. I mean, no bleeper? No delay? Kicked off for swearing? Is this the 1950s?"

Joan Rivers is clearly not used to British daytime TV. In many ways it still is the 1950s. Unlike audiences in the rest of the world, the British public are not fed wall-to-wall soap operas and scandalous chat shows before 6pm.

Instead, there is cooking, drama, current affairs and history alongside the gameshows and gossip. It could be said that the British like their daytime TV to inform and educate as well as entertain. As if they almost feel guilty watching pure entertainment in the middle of the day. It is a time of day in which Lord Reith would find reasons to be cheerful.

Rihanna Rocks the Today Show

June 21, 2008 |13:19 | Music Show | Tv news  By : Team X

No press tour in New York City would be complete without a stop at the Today Show.  And Rihanna graced the Summer Concert Series stage this morning with a frenzy-stirring performance.

The Good Girl Gone Bad donned a ballerina-style black dress with a multi-colored ruffle and a black train conductor’s hat and a pair of massive black heels as she charmed the audience at the Rockefeller Center stage.

And if you haven’t gotten your fill of Rihanna’s latest album, there’s good news- she’ll be releasing a seventh single off of the ‘reloaded’ version of the album in August.

The song, “Rehab,” was written by superstar duo Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, and features a very What Goes Around…Comes Around-esque vibe.

Rihanna's Shoes: Love Em or Hate Em?

June 20, 2008 |12:54 | General | Music Show | Tv news  By : Team X

What Will Smith is to summer movies, Rihanna is to summer music. Meaning, she just churns out hit after hit that make the steamy months even stickier. She was on BET's "106 & Park" to pimp her new single "Disturbia" that will inevitably be thumping in clubs all across this land, even though I am 100% positive that if Rihanna released "Breakin' Dishes" as her summer single it'd be her biggest hit to date! It's my favorite track off "Good Girl Gone Bad."

But that is beside the point. We've gathered today to talk about fashion, or more specifically, these shoes. Now, I admit that quirky shoes are my fashion weak point, but am I insane or do these look like shin guards Navajo's wear while playing soccer?

'70s Show star Valderrama embarks on new comedy

June 19, 2008 |13:40 | Comedy Show | General | Tv news  By : Team X

Wilmer Valderrama is back at Fox in a new comedy.

The network has ordered a one-hour pilot for "The Emancipation of Ernesto," in which the former star of "That '70s Show" plays an innocent man embarking on an epic quest to find his father amid a Los Angeles landscape polluted with excess. The story is said to be in the spirit of the Steve Martin comedy "The Jerk."

The script was written by Emily Kapnek, who created the Emmy-nominated Nickelodeon series "As Told by Ginger" and ABC's "Emily's Reasons Why Not."

"The writing jumped off the page; it has a really unique original tone," Susan Levison, senior vp comedy development at Fox. "It was a mix of real emotion with hard comedy. She has crafted a character we have never seen before."

One-hour comedies are increasingly popular on broadcast, but if "Ernesto" is greenlighted, the show would be the first of the format on Fox since "Ally McBeal." "There are a lot of wonderful places where we want the contours of this piece to go, we just didn't feel like it could fit in a half-hour format," she said.

"That '70s Show" ran for eight seasons on Fox until 2006. Valderrama has since appeared in feature films "Fast Food Nation" and "Unaccompanied Minors."

TV Preview: Secret Diary of a Call Girl

June 17, 2008 |15:52 | General | Tv news  By : Team X

Watching Secret Diary of a Call Girl, which starts tonight on Showtime, is like getting let in on the juiciest piece of gossip ever. The show is sly and slick, pulling back the curtain on the world of sex-for-money in London and leaving you feeling like the ultimate insider.

The show stars Billie Piper as Belle, a high-class hooker and the alter ego of Hannah, an everyday gal who prefers jeans and books to corsets and stilettos. In the first couple of episodes, Belle explains, in blunt and clever language, the mechanics of her job: Keep two closets and two cell phones, take the money first, give the client what he wants and don't be afraid to enjoy it.
