The Associated Mess comedy improv troupe will take on animated holiday shows Thursday night in Part 2 of its Christmas Movie re-dub show at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema in the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

A re-dub goes like this: Host Ryan Hill picks a scene from a film or TV show, but the cast doesn't know what it is. The scene is played on the cinema screen without sound and the actors "dub" in for what is being said on screen. Part 1, on Dec. 1, had the cast creating its own versions of scenes from '50s and '60s movies such as "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians."
Hill won't say what's planned for Thursday since it needs to be a surprise, but notes that the show works better with less popular movies and films because the actors are more likely to clear their heads and "let the ridiculousness happen."
A scene from "Rudolph" might appear, but a more likely choice would be "The Powder Puff Girls Save Christmas."The show will feature six re-dub scenes, along with some improv games that get the audience involved, such as asking members for a favorite holiday tradition to set a scene up.
