The sun isn't setting on "Jersey Shore" just yet. Snooki, JWoWW, The Situation and their five housemates will live on past tomorrow night's season finale of the controversial MTV reality series, The Post has learned.

First will be an hour-long reunion special, which airs immediately after the finale. Shot last week at LA's Sunset Bronson Studios, the show was described as being "a very dramatic reunion" by a source on the set.

In eight short episodes, "Jersey Shore" has become a huge hit for MTV -- with ratings that got bigger every week, peaking so far at nearly 4 million viewers.

It's the kind of success that sends TV networks back to the editing room to re-purpose the footage they didn't use the first time and plan for a second season.

On tomorrow's reunion, for instance, the cast, back together again for the first time, was surprised with clips that didn't make it into the original run of the series.

Keep an eye out for the tense and awkward moment when current lovebirds Sammi and Ronnie watch footage of Sammi and The Situation hooking up in the premiere episode.

Also up for discussion was the make-out session between The Situation and Snooki and whether or not Pauly D still has feelings for JWoWW.

The reunion marked the first time that several of the castmates had seen Angelina since she got fired from the t-shirt shop and ejected from the show early in the season.

As well, MTV has put together a "prequel," "Before the Shore," from casting videos and interviews with the cast about what their lives were like before becoming reality stars.

Although the cast members are being approached about starring in their own reality shows -- Snooki recently told USmagazine.com that there's interest in creating a dating show called "Snookin' for Love" -- they're still being courted by MTV for a second season of "Jersey Shore."

Possible alternatives for a second season of "Shore" would be to return with a pared down cast, introduce new cast members or to replace the cast entirely, like the "Real World," where new housemates are introduced each season.
