Florence Welch surprised almost everyone around her, after her video for 'Dog Days Are Over' earned a total of four nominations at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, and now she and her band have been tapped to perform the song at the big show.

This show will be broadcasted on the 12th of September at 9 p.m. ET.The band would surely aim to surprise once more. Although, as Welch spoke to MTV News last week, after learning of her norms, the celebrities in the audience most likely won't be the only ones who wouldn’t believe what they see.

Welch called the MTV Video Music Awards as an iconic event, something that she has grown up listening to. She says that performing there and also being nominated, is more of a dream. She feels as if she’s in a parallel universe, which is an eon away from harsh reality. We wish her and her band, the best of luck!
